Social Media is the new ‘buzz’ and is being touted as this decade’s most cost effective marketing tool with the best ROI.
But there is one clear social media winner!
With so many options where do you focus your energy first, and most likely your investment to get the best bang for your dollar with social media marketing?
Social Media Examiner surveyed 1,900 marketers in 2010 and half said they wanted to learn more about this decade’s most cost effective and successful strategy and this ‘top social media marketing tool’.
Of those just starting out in social media marketing, 65% wanted to learn more about it. And 81% of all the marketers surveyed said they would definitely increase their use of this strategy.

Better Search Engine position – No good being on page 57 in the search engine results. Not much use even being on page 2 or 3 actually. How many times do you go past page 1 when you’re doing a search?
Obviously the more people who find you in the search engine results, then the more people may do business with you.
Credibility and Authority tool – as you build your arsenal of content on your blog you increase your authority and credibility. This is the decade where people will do their due diligence on you online. If you Googled yourself and your business now what would you find?
It’s like “branding” on steroids. You strengthen your position online and in the market place in the quickest possible time with the least amount of expense. Getting your site ranked well at warp speed is obviously a good thing.
Moral of the story?
If you haven’t got a blog, get one.
Why would you have a website and then a blog? Two things to manage, that’s too hard!

If you do have a blog or a Smarter Website then make regular posts. (Plus this post confirms you’re certainly on the right track with your marketing)
What’s regular? Up to you, it might be quarterly, monthly, fortnightly or weekly. The more you do, the more you strengthen your market place position. Even if it’s quarterly your site will rank better than a standard website so it’s a no brainer.

80% of our work is rebuilds. What does that tell you? Obviously a lot of cowboys or backyarders out there! It’s of no value even if it is on a blogging platform if it’s not set up right.
Success online lies with getting more traffic, keeping them on your site longer, getting their details so you can talk to them more. That’s building a a solid online presence.

Just had this notification in from Matt Mullenweg of WordPress.
“They’ve fixed a pretty critical vulnerability in WordPress’ core HTML sanitation library, and because this library is used lots of places it’s important that everyone update as soon as possible.
I realize an update during the holidays is no fun, but this one is worth putting down the eggnog for. In the spirit of the holidays, consider helping your friends as well.”
You can do this update in your dashboard, on the “updates” tab.
